Arthur Louis Jr.

Director of Student Affairs

& Motivation 

Arthur Louis, Jr. is a 1977 graduate of South Park High School and is a former quarterback for South Park High School and Sam Houston State University where he earned his B.A. degree in education in 1981.  He received his Master’s Degree from Prairie View A&M University in Educational Administration in 2003.  Louis also earned a state certification in Mid-Management.  Louis was a free-agent quarterback, first Black, with the Dallas Cowboys.  Louis was inducted into the Hall of Fame at Sam Houston State University. He had the distinction of being selected to the All-Time football team at Sam Houston State University in January 2000.  He began his coaching career at Beaumont – Charlton Pollard in 1981.

 

He worked from 1982-1997 as an assistant coach at West Brook High.  His 1994 track team won the 5-A State Track and Field Championship in Austin and a National championship in the 4x400 meter relay.  From 1997 to 2001 he was the head football coach at Clifton J. Ozen High. He also served as assistant principal at Silsbee High School for 3 years before returning to coaching at West Brook High School in 2005. Louis’ motto is “Discipline, Academics, and Athletics, in that order.” He retired as an assistant principal at Ozen High School in 2011.

 

He is a member and Deacon of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. John Adolph; and was a Ben’s Kids Super Mentor. He serves as chairman of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Parkway commission of Beaumont, Texas. Arthur was a mentor/counselor in the 252nd   criminal district court of Jefferson County where the honorable Layne Walker presided. He is a 2012 honoree of CUSH Magazine and Southeast Texas Association of Black Journalist: STRENGTHENING AWARD. He also served as director of employee relations for the Modern Group. He also worked in the 136th District Court were the honorable Baylor Wortham presides. Arthur was chosen in March of 2018 as the Head football coach for the newly formed high school, Beaumont United High, Timber Wolves. He and his wife Sondra has been married for 37 years.
