What is Let's Run It Back?
Let’s Run It Back (LRIB) is a non-profit organization determined to give back to former student-athletes around the United States. As you may be aware, only about 2% of college student-athletes go pro and reach their ultimate goal. But what about the 98% that don’t make it? What happens to those who don’t finish college? LRIB wants to give these student-athletes a second chance to finish their college education, earn a degree, and use their natural leadership skills to earn gainful employment and give back to their families, neighborhoods, and communities.
LRIB Founder and Veteran Educator Royal Thomas, Jr., has enjoyed a successful career as both a teacher and coach in Texas High Schools. That experience and appreciation of his own blessings inspired him to give back to student-athletes through LRIB. Thomas created LRIB as a way for former student-athletes to return to college and help them achieve and maximize their potential. By investing in these former student-athletes, LRIB is also investing in future generations and showcasing the potential and benefits of a college degree.

College Education - The entire focus of Let’s Run It Back is on giving student-athletes a second chance at earning their undergraduate degree to change and better the trajectory of their life’s path.
Determination - Student-Athletes who are determined to do better will have the opportunity to do so with a second chance at achieving an undergraduate degree.
Diversity - Let’s Run It Back believes in the power of a diverse world. We can all learn so much from people of all colors, creeds, races, genders, and ethnicities.
Impact - Let’s Run It Back understands the importance of leadership and teamwork. Most athletes are leaders and will make a positive impact on the work environment and those around them.
